Oversharing by attachment
A landlord asks for proof of income and gets the full bank statement — every transaction, every balance. A counterparty needs the signature page and receives the entire negotiated contract. It happens because extracting a page feels like it requires special software, so the whole file goes out instead. But splitting is precisely the situation where you shouldn’t compensate with an upload-based tool: the reason you’re splitting is that the document contains more than the recipient should see, which is also more than a conversion server should see. The habit is worth breaking for good: once a full statement is in someone else’s inbox, you can’t take it back, and you have no say in how carefully it gets stored.
Step by step: pull the pages you need

The statement stays yours; only the page you chose goes to the landlord. You could disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the split would still finish.
One thing to check first
If the PDF is password-protected, pages can’t be copied out of it until the encryption is removed — the tool asks you to unlock it first instead of failing with a cryptic error.
